Pre & Post Operative Physiotherapy
Orthopaedic Rehab
Offering prehab services to help you get ready for your surgery and recover quickly afterwards with post-surgical Physiotherapy!
What is Prehab?
Prehab (or pre-rehabilitation) for surgery is a proactive rehabilitation program designed to strengthen your body and improve mobility before undergoing surgery. By building muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness, prehab helps you recover faster, reduce post-surgery complications, and improve overall outcomes. It prepares your body to handle the surgery better and enhances your post-operative recovery process.
What is Post-Op Rehab?
Post-op rehab, or post-operative rehabilitation, is the recovery process after surgery aimed at restoring your strength, mobility, and function. It involves tailored exercises, hands-on treatments, and gradual progressions to help you regain movement, reduce pain, and return to your normal activities as safely and effectively as possible. Post-op rehab is essential for ensuring a successful recovery and preventing complications after surgery.

How Orthopaedic Physiotherapy can help you
Orthopaedic physiotherapy may help you by treating and managing musculoskeletal conditions requiring surgery, including injuries to bones, joints, muscles, and ligaments. Through a combination of manual therapy, targeted exercises, and rehabilitation programs, orthopaedic physio can:
Pain and inflammation will be one of the many factors contributing to lack of function early after surgery. We will help you improve your pain and inflammation to assist with increased mobility in your joints.
Your range of motion is necessary to move freely and will start fairly limited after surgery. It is important with the advice of your Physiotherapist to improve your mobility as this will allow you to start strengthening joints more easily.
Muscle strength is vital for keeping your joints healthy and strong. When you are ready, you will begin therapeutic exercise and progress to an exercise program to help you get stronger and return to your favourite activities.
Completing a period of prehab can increase your recovery from surgery and the success of your surgery.
Our aim is to help you recover but also get stronger than you were before your surgery or accident. We will test your strength prior to surgery and afterwards and ensure you finish your rehab feeling stronger than before!

Meet Tom
My passion for anatomy and personal experience with injuries led me to complete a Masters of Physiotherapy at The University of Queensland.
I struggled with injuries as a teenager... It continuously stopped me from playing the sports I loved, like tennis and field hockey, but also running around with my mates. So at 16 years of age, I decided I would become a Physiotherapist and help other athletes avoid my mistakes.
Since graduating, I've worked with State field hockey teams, VFL, and AFLW athletes, and I've been a swimming coach for 10 years. My mission is to help amateur athletes and people from all walks of life recover from injury, manage pain, and stay active. I believe in open, honest care that empowers you to take control of your health.
