Tom began his Physiotherapy business "The Grassroots Physio" in the beginning of 2024 with an ambition to help the people of North Brisbane.
Dear Reader
Hello, and welcome to The Grassroots Physio!
My name is Tom Wigg, and I’m the founder of this clinic. In 2021, I became a physiotherapist because, like many of you, I’ve faced injuries that took me away from the sports I loved. Growing up, I was passionate about tennis and field hockey, but a lack of injury prevention and proper load management in my teenage years resulted in constant injuries and meant I never reached the professional levels I aspired to.
This personal experience, combined with my love for anatomy, led me to complete my Masters of Physiotherapy at The University of Queensland, driven by the desire to help others avoid the struggles I faced.
With 3 years of experience as a professional Physiotherapist, I’ve worked with State hockey teams, the VFL, and AFLW. This has given me valuable insight into the demands of high-level sports. I’ve also been a swimming coach for 10 years, which has provided me with the skills necessary to work with children and adults alike.
My mission is simple: to help amateur athletes recover from injury, teach them how to manage their bodies, and prevent injuries before they become severe enough to take them away from what they love.
But my work isn’t limited to athletes. I’m also deeply committed to helping people from all walks of life manage pain and improve their quality of life. Whether you’re dealing with back pain, recovering from surgery, or simply looking to stay healthy and active, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
At The Grassroots Physio, I believe in being open, honest, and transparent. My goal is not only to provide effective treatment but to empower you with the knowledge to take control of your health. Your body is strong and resilient, and I’m here to help you keep it that way.
Thank you for choosing The Grassroots Physio. I’m excited to work with you and help you achieve your goals.
Warm regards,
Thomas Wigg
